Jim and I left last Wednesday and headed to Philadelphia for the 2012 Collie National Speciality Dog Show.
Shade and I showed very early, 7:30 AM, Saturday morning -
We didn't win anything - but he showed really well for me. This was his first time showing in at least 5 years, and my first time ever handling him. We'll find our way and things will just get better from here.
We toured Philly -
I was in awe of the size of the buildings. I mean, I live in a large city - but Philly made Cincinnati look like a small town.
Then I wanted to stop at the Flight 93 crash site. It has been turned into a very nice, respectful, peaceful monument.
What is left of the crater from the crash.
It was very somber and humbling to stand on that ground...
Bonnie and my son Logan today.
It's been a lot of years, but I had a great time. I hope you ate a genuine Philly cheese steak.

ReplyDeleteShade is gorgeous
How fun to visit a new city. It all looks big!!!. Great photo of your son riding
ReplyDeleteYour collie is beautiful! I show dogs also (dalmatians) and two years ago got my first horse.
ReplyDeletePhilly is a big city. You should come to N.Y. sometime and show at the Garden. Your dog is gorgeous. I love collies (grew up with them) it's all my mom ever had. You should have won something for such a well behaved beautiful dog.
ReplyDeleteYour son looks good on horseback!
You have been very busy! Dogs and horses...can't beat that.
ReplyDeleteLove the blue merle...A good show is one you feel good about how you showed. I think so much of any show is "politics" no matter what. (4-H waaaay scary). Your Logan and Bonnie look so together and relaxed. Nice.
