Before and After a Bonnie Update

I've not posted about Bonnie in a while more so because the "before" pictures look like she is a neglect/starvation case.  Which is the farthest from the truth you can get.

It's been a slow go after the initial recovery with the weight gain from her injury back in February.

I made some changes - she's getting 12 cups of feed - 6 cups of safe choice and 6 cups of 14% low starch low sugar pellet per day (over two meals), 4 flakes of hay when in her stall over night\day + round bale in their pasture.

She is looking much better - rounding even.  I'll let the pictures speak for me.

Still have a ways to go - but I think I can start to slowly bring her back into light weight and build some muscle.

  6. Nice job! Bonnie's really filled out in just a month.

Apache came out of winter thinner than I like but I've worked hard at making sure she out on weight and now she is mostly filled out. But next I want to help her build some muscle, too.
