Updates and Other News

Quick update on Rosie - she's doing another round of antibiotics.  She's no longer coughing, Thank God!  But still has nasal discharge.  It's clear but in copious amounts so Vet suggested another round.

I too am on antibiotics.  The people doctor is not sure what exactly is wrong with me.  It's evident there is because EVERY lymph-node in my body is swollen.  Really Really swollen.  So antibiotics for 10 days and see what happens.

Other news:

I've decided to order two custom made 4 knot rope halters for the girls.  Their ground manners are becoming hellish and I really need to do something about it.

I believe Rosie was never taught to stay outside a "Hula Hoop".  She's never mean about it but she likes to run up on your heels, or drag you around.  It has to stop.

Bonnie's never disrespectful of my space, she's just lazy to do things.  She does them on her own time, at her own pace.  She's also becoming too sensitive and jumpy because that's all we've been working on.

At this point I'm going to start their ground training from the beginning with no assumptions of what they should already know.

Lastly a Sneak Peak of the house I hinted at in a previous post.  It's a 3 bedroom, 2. 5 bath log home, with a rustic/lodge type interior

And yes, it's the house that goes with the private barn I was leasing.

  2. Sounds like a good deal and a pretty house. I wonder if you picked up what Rosie had??? Or is it empathy??? Respect on the ground is sooo important, including whoa. I did some halter work with a lttle mare yesterday. Third try so "got" it, stop when I do.

  4. Gorgeous home...and barn too, by the sounds, GREAT!!!
Yea..I am such a sticker for the ground manners...I watch some of my friends just allow their horses to step all over them...it has to be one of the most difficult things I see...like it is too time consuming to expect your horse to respect you or something..holy cows..it's your head and feet and space...but I can only watch till asked to have an opinion!

Proud of you for taking such good care of your horses...sorry to hear of the illnesses with you and them still... I had that happened to me and I had gotten "cat scratch fever" from taking care of a sick kitty.
    Be well soon, I pray!

  5. Glad to hear Rosie is feeling somewhat better, but now your sick? That's not good hope the meds help kick it out of both of you, and fast!

Nice house, looks like it's got good character and would make a comfy home for you & and your family. Let us know how things shake out.

Cute house! I hope it works out for you. It would be so nice for you to have Rosie and Bonnie home where you can give them the best of care.
